A pricing rule before sending any proposal

Formula

Quote = (hours × hourly rate + tool/AI costs) × 1.2. Hourly rate NT$300; Wix-type work NT$500. Hours include a 20% revision buffer.

Why a range

Tasker's price field needs a lower and an upper bound: the approved price is the upper bound, the lower bound is that minus NT$100.

Practical limits

  • The proposal body is capped at 500 characters.
  • Old drafts get pre-filled; clear them first before pasting the new text.

Delivery guarantee

"See it before you pay, deposit refunded if you're not satisfied."

Example cost table (from our own estimates; costs only, not deal prices)

Job typeHours (with buffer)RateAI costCost
Sticker design (AI art to PVC sticker print files, assumed ≤5)5.4hNT$300NT$50NT$1,670
LINE AI customer service (plus FB page / TG)13.2hNT$300NT$300NT$4,260
Website redesign (Wix, assumed ≤6 pages)27.6hNT$500NT$600NT$14,400

Hours and AI costs are estimates, not measured or billed; quote = cost × 1.2.

That day

9 proposals sent (5 noon, 4 evening); 0 deals so far, income NT$0.

Next / what was learned

  • With zero reviews, lower the client's risk with a trial, deposit and fixed revisions — not by cutting price.
  • Pricing a big job too low can look unprofessional; low pricing should depend on job size.
  • To add: how many points each proposal actually used, as a cost.

What was done

  • Set a quoting rule: cost (working time + a 20% revision buffer + AI/tool fees + points cost) × 1.2. Each proposal goes out only with its cost sheet approved.
  • Sent 9 Tasker proposals that day (5 at noon, 4 in the evening); the platform showed each as successfully submitted.
  • Also drafted 5 service listings, not published yet.

What was learned

  • With zero reviews, peers lower the client's risk with a small trial, a 50% deposit and a fixed number of revisions — not by cutting price.
  • Quoting too low on a large job can read as unprofessional; low pricing should depend on job size.

Numbers (real data)

  • Markup × 1.2 (cost + 20%) — own pricing rule.
  • 9 proposals sent (5 noon, 4 evening); 0 deals so far, income NT$0 — own records.
  • 5 service listing drafts — own daily log.
