Bidding points are locked, not spent

Official rules (Tasker's own pages)

  • T Points convert 1:1 to NT$, and 1:1 to proposal credit.
  • You choose the bid per proposal: minimum 100, maximum 9,999.
  • In the priority-proposal area, ranking is by amount bid only; ties go to whoever submitted first.
  • Refunded 100% whether or not you win: on accept, decline, job closed, or after 2 days unread/unanswered.
  • A refund does not reset the expiry date; it keeps the original redemption date, and credit already expired on refund is void.

The official pages contradict each other on expiry

The terms say 600 credit lasts 30 days, 2,400 → 60, 4,800 → 90, 8,400 → 120 (top-ups of 180–1,200 credit: 30 days); help/126 says 30 days for all. We go by the terms / what the page shows.

Our three-tier bidding rule

TierBidWhen
Low100Job value < NT$3,000; ≥ 10 proposals; client moderately active; medium fit. Mainly to test the water
Mid~200 (official average)Job value NT$3,000–15,000; 3–10 proposals; client online within 3 days; high fit
HighCurrent #1 bid +1 to +50; cap = points worth 10% of expected gross margin, and ≤ 1/3 of available creditJob value > NT$15,000, or a perfect-fit job that can earn a first review; client online today; few proposals

Filters and stop-loss

  • Client not online for over 3 days → don't bid.
  • Job posted over 7 days ago with many proposals → don't bid.
  • 3 days unread = no reply.
  • No follow-up after 7 days.

Next / what was learned

  • A bid locks points for about 2 days; the real cost is opportunity cost and expiry.
  • Still unknown: real plan prices and bonus points, our credit's expiry date, how many points each proposal actually used.

What was done

  • Read Tasker's official help and pricing pages on proposal points and wrote a bidding rule from them.

What was learned

  • Points put on a proposal are refunded 100%, won or not — returned when the client accepts, declines, closes the job, or leaves it unread/unanswered for 2 days. So a bid locks points for about 2 days rather than spending them.
  • The real cost is opportunity cost (points locked away from other bids) and any credit that expires unused. Refunded credit keeps its original expiry date.
  • In the priority-proposal area, ranking is by points put in only; ties go to whoever proposed first.
